A mass reception and a huge workers’ rally were held in Arani of Bagha upazila in Rajshahi to welcome Abu Sayeed Chand, Member of Parliament for the Rajshahi-6 (Bagha-Charghat) constituency.
The event was organized by Arani Pourashava BNP and its affiliated and associate organizations. A large number of leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated organizations participated in the programme.
The rally was held on Thursday (September 17, 2026) at around 4:30 pm at the field of Arani Manomohini Government High School.
Arani Pourashava BNP President Tozammel Haque presided over the programme. Abu Sayeed Chand, MP for Rajshahi-6, attended the event as the chief guest. The programme was overall supervised by Mahidul Islam Juel, Chairman of the Governing Body of Arani Degree College.
Among the special guests were Bagha Upazila BNP Member Secretary Ashraf Ali Molin, Bagha Pourashava BNP President Kamal Hossain, General Secretary Tofiqul Islam Tofi, Rajshahi District Jubo Dal Convener Masudur Rahman Swajan, and Rajshahi District Chhatra Dal Convener SM Salauddin Ahmed Shamim Sarkar.
A number of other BNP leaders and activists from different levels were also present at the programme, including Arani Pourashava BNP Senior Vice-President Md Aftab Uddin, former Convener and teacher Zahid Hossain, Organising Secretary-1 Mosharraf Hossain Liton, Organising Secretary-2 Ziaul Haque Zia, former Member Secretary Md Robiul Islam, former Joint General Secretary Mizanur Rahman Palash, Bausa Union BNP President Principal Md Rezaul Karim, Arani Union BNP President Professor Sajdar Rahman, Bausa Union BNP General Secretary Nasir Uddin, and Acting General Secretary of Arani Union BNP Mahtab Hossain Master.
Rajshahi District Jubo Dal Joint Convener Md Milon Prang, members Asaduzzaman Raja and Zainal Abedin, Arani Union Parishad Panel Chairman Md Jahangir Alam, Bausa Union Parishad Panel Chairman Abdur Rahman, Upazila Chhatra Dal Member Secretary Palash Sarkar, former Acting General Secretary of Rajshahi District Swechchhasebak Dal Rashedul Islam Rasu, Arani Pourashava Mohila Dal President Sonia Khatun, Fisheries Dal President Abdur Razzaq Tufan, Arani Pourashava Krishak Dal President Akram Ali, Arani Pourashava Mohila Dal General Secretary Saleha Begum, and former President of Arani Union Jubo Dal Rafiqul Islam were also present.
The rally created a festive atmosphere with the participation of a large number of local BNP leaders and activists and those of its affiliated organizations. Enthusiasm was noticeable among the participants throughout the programme.
The programme was conducted by Mostak Ahmed Biltu, General Secretary of Arani Pourashava BNP.
During the event, heads of various educational institutions and madrasas presented honorary crests to MP Abu Sayeed Chand and greeted him with flowers.
Earlier, molasses traders of Arani Pourashava market also welcomed MP Abu Sayeed Chand with flowers and presented him with an honorary crest. During the visit, he also inspected the ongoing development work at the molasses market.
